Destination Guide: Playa del Carmen

Just 52 miles from Cancun and in the middle of the tourist Riviera Maya is Playa del Carmen, a beautiful resort where the predominant activities are tourism, nightlife and fishing. This Caribbean destination is ideal for diving, as its clear waters are home to beautiful fish and underwater caves.

This destination has a number of tourist places to visit, including a tropical jungle area inhabited by spider monkeys, crocodiles and countless exotic birds. On your next trip to Mexico not forget to visit this spectacular tourist destination

Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, now the third largest city in Quintana Roo (population more than doubled in the last 10 years) is the most fashionable city in the entire Yucatan Peninsula. Located on the leeward side of Cozumel, the beaches of the city are flooded with Europeans in very good physical condition.

Walk along the promenade of Playa del Carmen, Fifth Avenue (Avenida 5), it is a great game to see and be seen. It's where the beautiful people go. A city of fashion and physical appearance, soberly chic and European cancheramente.

The city is well situated: near the international airport of Cancun, but far enough south to allow easy access to Cozumel, Tulum, Coba and other worthwhile destinations. The reefs are excellent and offer diving and snorkeling nearby. Look stripes, moray eels, sea turtles and a variety of corals. The lavender sea fans guarantee very picturesque scenery.
